National Institute of Rock Mechanics (NIRM) is a premier research institute in the area of rock engineering. The Institute is looking for Project Associate and Project Fellow in Mining Engg./ Civil Engg./ Environmental Engg./ Geology/ Geophysics (Seismology) disciplines for working in various S&T projects funded by Government of India and other industry sponsored projects. The number of posts is 11 in all disciplines put together, but this may be increased or decreased depending upon the actual requirement and at the discretion of the management.

Remuneration : These posts carry a consolidated monthly emolument of Rs.8000/- to 15000/- depending upon qualification, experience and financial provisions in the project.

Nature of Appointment : These are a purely temporary post with a tenure of ONE YEAR which can be extended up to a maximum of Three Years.

Qualification : A minimum of First Class bachelor’s degree in Engineering in Mining/ Civil/ Environmental Engineering or Masters degree in Geology/ Geophysics from a reputed institute. Desirable : Masters degree in the above engineering disciplines or Ph.D. degree in geology/ geophysics and two years of experience in academic/ research institute in the respective field. With everything remaining equal, candidates with relevant field experience will be preferred.

Age : Maximum age limit is 35 Years as on 1st May 2007 for applicants with M.Tech./M.Sc./MS degree and 40 years for applicants with Ph.D. degree.
