Applications on the computerised Form alongwith Information Brochure costing Rs.50/- to be obtained from the office of the Commission are invited from all the eligible and desirous candidates for selection of candidates for admission to 21 seats (General=12,SC=02,ST=-01, OBC=02, General Ex-Man=04) of Himachal Pradesh Forest Service (ACF) Course by 08-08-07. After successful completion of the training course, they will be appointed as Assistant Conservator of Forest , Class-I, Gazetted in the pay scale of Rs.7220-11660/-.Last date for receipt of applications on the computerised form in the office of the Commission for the candidates residing in far-flung areas whose applications are received by post only from these areas is 23-08-07.
Qualifications : A candidate must possess at least Bachelor’s degree of any recognised University or its equivalent with at least one of the following subjects:- Agriculture, Agriculture Engineering, Animal Husbandry & Veterinary Science, Botany, Chemical Engineering, Chemistry, Civil Engineering, Economics , Forestry, Geology, Geography, Horticulture, Mathematics, Mechanical Engineering, Physics, Statistics & Zoology. OR Honours certificate holders of any of the Government Forest Rangers Colleges provided they are sponsored by the state. Provided that in case of graduates with pure Mathematics, Statistics or Economics they must have taken Science subject in their 10+2 or equivalent examination.
Age : Should be between 21 to 34 years as on 01/01/2007.
Written Exam : The candidates will be subjected to a written examination consisting of three compulsory papers i.e.(i)General Knowledge(ii) General English (iii) Hindi and two optional papers out of 17 subjects mentioned against above.
Physical Standards :
- For Men : Height: 163 cms., Chest :79 cms without expansion & 84 cms with expansion., , Capacity to walk: 25 kms in 04 hours.
- For Women : Height: 150 cms., Chest :74 cms without expansion & 79 cms with expansion., Capacity to walk: 16 kms in 04 hours.
Application Form : Application form along with two envelops and booklet of Information Brochure containing syllabus and instructions to candidates will also be available at the Reception Counter of H.P.Public Service Commission and all Distt. Headquarters except Shimla/Kinnaur /Lahaul& Spiti in the Pradesh through the whole sale / retails shop(s) of Gas Agency(s)/ Counter of H.P.Civil Supplies Corporation Ltd. @ Rs.50/- only. Application forms can also be obtained on payment of Rs.100/- per form i.e. inclusive of postal charges by means of crossed Bank Draft of scheduled Bank in favour of Secretary, H.P.Public Service Commission, payable at Shimla only. All requests for supply of forms by post must reach in the office of H.P. Public Service Commission at least 10 days before the last date for receipt of applications.
Application Fee in shape of Bank draft for Rs. 250/-only, (Rs.63/- for SC/ST/OBC of H.P.only), payable at any branch of a scheduled bank at Shimla to the Secretary ,HPPSC, Nigam Vihar , Shimla-171002 (HP).
