Part Time Foreign Language Linguist Guides
(For Northern Region)
Indian Institute of Tourism & Travel Management (IITTM) is a centre of excellence for education, training & research in travel, tourism and allied sectors.
India will host Commonwealth Games in Delhi in 2010 and the influx of tourists would require more guides including Part Time Guides to supplement the Regional Level Guides. Keeping in view of the above the Ministry of Tourism, Govt. of India invites applications from eligible candidates to work as Part Time Foreign Language Linguist Guides in foreign languages, particularly in French, German, Spanish, Russian, Chinese, Korean, Japanese, Italian, Portuguese and Thai for the Northern Region of the country viz. Delhi, Haryana, Himachal Pradesh, Jammu & Kashmir, Punjab, Rajasthan, Uttarakhand, Uttar Pradesh and Union Territory of Chandigarh. The requirement is as follows: Chinese-200, Russian-100, Korean-100, German-150, Japanese-200, French- 250, Spanish-100, Italian- 200, Thai- 50 and Portugues- 50.
Qualification :
- Any Graduate from a recognized University or Diploma holder in Archaeology from the Institute of Archaeology under ASI, New Delhi or any other recognized Institute/ University. Candidates must be in possession of the Diploma / Degree certificate on the date ofthe publication of first advertisement, and
- Undergone at least six months regular Certificate / Diploma course in the concerned foreign language with proven skill and fluency, from a recognized University, Embassy / Consulate concerned / their Cultural Centres, or by other Institutions approved / recognized by the Government.
- Fluency in English language.
- Holding a regular employment in any field other than shopping.
Documentary proof of the above should be enclosed along with application. The written test / examination of the candidates would be conducted in the concerned foreign language. Candidates desiring to work as Part Time Foreign Language Linguist Guides will have to be regular residents of anyone of the States that come under the jurisdiction of Regional Director (Northern Region) and proof of domicile will have to be submitted at the time of application.
Age Limit : The applicant should be at least 20 years of age as on the date of first advertisement appearing in the media.
