The JPSC announces holding of the Jharkhand Eligibility Test (JET) on 15/10/2006 9Sunday) for determining the eligibility of the Candidates for lecturership in the universities and colleges as per the accerediation given by UGC and according to NET/UGC-CSIR Syllabus.
The result of the JPSC JET Examination will be made available in the website www.jharkhandjpsc.org and shall also published in the news papers. The individual candidates will not be intimated about the result.
The candidates who qualifiy the eligibility test for lecturership will be governed by the rules and regulation for recruitment of lecturer of the concered University/College/State Govt. as the case may be. SC, ST, OBC / Visual Handicapped (VH)/ Physical Handicapped 9PH) candidates will be given such special concession as may be decided by the commision as per UGC guidelines.
Conditions for Eligibility
  1. Only those candidates are eligible to appear in the JET who have completed / are persuing UGC specified Master Degree.
  2. Candidates who have secured at least 55% marks in Master degree or equivalent exam from Universities/ Institution recognised by UGC in Humanity, Social Science, Science and Commerce faculty. The SC/ST/VH/Ph candidates who have secured 50% marks in Master degree exam are eligible.

Age Limit: No upper age limit for lecturership.

Exemption for M.Phil/Ph.D. Candidates: The candidates having Ph.D. degree in the concerened subject are exempted from JET for PG level and UG level teaching. the candidates having M.Phil degree in the concered subject are exempted from JET for UG level teaching vide notification No. 1-1/2002(PS) dated 14th June, 2006 of UGC. For candidates who have cleared the State Level (SLET) accredited by UGC held prior to 1st June 2002 are exempted from appearing in JET.

Examination Fee and Mode of Payment:

for General and OBc candidates the Examination Fee is Rs. 400/- and for SC/ST candidates Rs. 100/-. PH/VH candidates need not pay Fee. The fee should be paid in the form of crossed DD from State Bank of India or any Nationalised Bank payable at their service branch in Ranchi.
